The
WEBM@STER� web design training course takes the student step-by-step through the construction of a complete website from the very basics of Website design teaching the HTML/XHTML languages, to the uploading of the Website to your web space.
During the course, the student will enjoy the creative experience of developing multi-media web pages and will also learn to use specialised products such as Adobe Flash, Dreamweaver & Photoshop and ShopFactory Pro, gradually building on the experience and ultimately designing and creating a high quality professional of their own.
Using innovative, interactive, multi-media CBT techniques and supported by a personal course tutor, the web design course is self-paced with no time pressure for completion; the student simply studies at home or at work when time permits.
The training programme consists of 10 interactive lessons, provided on DVD ROM, each of which is divided into a number of related topics. The student is able to easily navigate between lessons and topics, and bookmarks can be inserted to facilitate the resumption of the programme from the previous exit point.
Each lesson is finished with a set assignment and there are many additional exercises to complete along the way which help to give a thorough understanding of the course content. A template of the fictional SuperNova corporate Website is also included as a guide on how to design your own Website.
APPLE MAC USERS: We recommend this course is completed on a PC with the Windows Operating System. The course can be run on an Apple Macs using software such as Boot Camp, Parallels Desktop 7, VMware fusion or CrossOver Mac although we cannot support any issues that may occur with PC-Based software running on a Mac.
You Will Learn to: - Use all of the important HTML/XHTML tags, including hypertext links and anchors, lists, tables, frames and forms;
- Construct a fully-functional website with a range of useful page formats;
- Create sensational special effects, including roll-over buttons and scrolling marquees, without the need for specialist programming;
- Learn to use basic JavaScript;
- Build an exciting, visually-appealing online store; and
Create stunning movies using Adobe's industry-leading Flash development tool.
The
WEBM@STER� Course includes a comprehensive software Library which includes trial/freeware versions of the following software: Adobe Dreamweaver CS5; Adobe Flash CS5; Adobe Fireworks CS5; Adobe Photoshop CS5; Gif Construction Set; MapEdit; WinZip 11; Shop Factory Pro 9; Cute FTP; and Colour Picker 1.9.
Qualification:The award is gained from your successfully completed coursework so there is no exam to complete.
On successful completion of this course, students will be awarded the
Open Awards Level 2 Web Design & Construction Award.
This is a Level 2 Award (Comparable to working at GCSE or NVQ Level 2) and has 6 Open Award credits. Open Award Credits can be accumulated with other course or unit credits over a period of time which can lead to an accredited qualification.
