The Adobe Flash CS5 (ACA) Course is designed to help students prepare for the Adobe Certified Expert Flash CS5 examination. All course materials are officially endorsed by Adobe.
The course consists of Officially endorsed ACA Courses books, accompanying CD Rom�s containing exercise files and online CertBlaster Exam Preparation Software.
Please Note: This course is not compatible with Apple Mac Computers.
Adobe Flash CS5 Basics Course Book:
This course book introduces the basic elements and features of Flash Professional CS5 so that students can begin creating Flash applications for delivery on the Web. Students will learn how to use the Stage and the Library, create and format text, work with basic shapes, work with layers, and use the Timeline. They will learn how to format objects by using custom Colours and gradients and by applying filters and soft edges. Next, students will create frame-by-frame, motion tween, and movie clip animations.
Students will also work with interactive components such as buttons and audio controls. Finally, students will learn about accessibility options for Flash content, test the download performance of a Flash file, and publish a Flash file.

The following topics are covered: New file settings; Library items; Using text; Basic shapes; and Freeform drawing and editing.
- Unit 3: Using the Timeline

- Unit 4: Formatting Objects
The following topics are covered: Custom Colours and gradients; and Soft edges.
- Unit 5: Timeline Animation & Interactive Buttons
The following topics are covered: Frame-by-frame animation; Motion tweening; Movie clip animation; and Interactive buttons.
- Unit 6: Publishing your Applications
The following topics are covered: Accessibility; Testing; Publishing and ACA Exam Objectives.
Adobe Flash CS5 Advanced Course Book:
In this course book students will create and edit vector paths and mask layers and learn how to use advanced animation techniques, such as inverse kinematics, shape and motion tweens, and animated masks and filters. Students will then work with movie clips, use ActionScript 3.0 code to better control their Flash applications, and incorporate audio and video. Finally, students will learn some basic principles of project management, discuss issues related to image use and copyrights, and learn how to plan a Flash application.

The following topics are covered: Creating vector paths; Editing vector paths; Using mask layers; and Using the pattern tools.
- Unit 2: Advanced Animation Techniques
The following topics are covered: Inverse kinematics; Shape tweens and animated masks; Filter animation; and The Motion Editor.
- Unit 3: ActionScript Animation
The following topics are covered: Programming principles; Event listeners and event handlers; Modular code; Special classes; and The Debugger.
- Unit 4: Interactive Techniques
The following topics are covered: Adding audio; Scripting a link to a Web page; and Loading dynamic content.
- Unit 5: Video
The following topics are covered: Flash video basics; and Video in Flash files.
- Unit 6: Managing your Flash Project
The following topics are covered: Image copyrights; Project management; Application planning and ACA Exam Objectives.
Pre-Requirements:
There are no particular entry requirements as the course is set out for beginners although students will require their own version of Adobe Flash CS5 to complete the course.
Course Duration & Support:
Students may register at any time. The courses are designed as self-study courses but if you have any problems you can email our email support. As the course is self study you can complete in as little or as long a time as you prefer, and we do not impose a cut-off date for study.
Assessment:
Assessment is in the form an Adobe Certified Expert Examination. Examinations are in a multiple choice/multiple answer format.
Qualification:
On Completion of Course, you can apply for your ACA Rich Media Communication with Flash Examination.
Examinations must be sat at a registered Certiport testing centre. Exam Vouchers can be bought directly from Prodigy UK for �65.00 and you can locate testing centres and schedule appointments on their Website: www.prodigyuk.co.uk.
Please Note: Exam Centre�s will usually charge an additional proctoring fee (Approximately �20.00) for sitting exams.
