Android under the Hood
The course describes the Android platform, its components, libraries and framework. The participants will learn how the build system works and how to add new native libraries to the platform. Besides this the course participants will learn about IPC in Android and how the platform exposes native code through JNI to the Java layer.
We achieve this knowledge through traditional classes mixed with practical exercises. In the exercises we will add a simple native library to the platform and use it in a native application as well as in a Java application. After these exercises the participants will with ease be able to apply their new knowledge in their own project's environment.
Objectives of the course
To achieve a good understanding of the Android platform and its components. To learn how to add new functionality under the Java API. To learn how to expose such new functionality and expand the existing API.

Included in the course is our original material in English. The course can be given in English or Swedish.
