Ciw Web Development Professional Course
The CIW Web Development Professional Course consists of 3 separate CIW syllabus exam home study courses.
To earn the CIW Web Development Professional certification, you must take and pass three certification exams: CIW JavaScript Specialist; CIW Perl Specialist; and CIW Database Design Specialist. Passing each of these exams earns you the related individual certification. If you pass all three exams, you will be awarded the advanced Web Development Professional certification in addition to the individual certifications.
The CIW Web Development Professional certification program is an ambitious journey for the individual who wants to excel in a career in Web and IT technologies. The essential combination of a front-end scripting language, a back-end programming language and the skills to integrate them with a database is what makes a Web Development Professional. The CIW JavaScript Fundamentals Course teaches developers how to use the features of the JavaScript language to design client-side, platform-independent solutions. Perl code development, including accessing and manipulating files.

CIW DATABASE DESIGN SPECIALIST COURSE BOOK
The CIW Database Design Specialist course provides introductory vendor-neutral training for individuals planning to pursue product-focused database specialization. This course introduces you to DB2, Oracle Database 11g, MS SQL and mySQL. You will also learn about Structured Query Language (SQL) and database optimization through normalization.
Skills Taught:
Relational database fundamentals.
Database planning.
Database design methodology, including logical and physical database design.
Optimization and normalization.
Structured Query Language (SQL).
Relational algebra.
Transactions and database security.
CIW PRACTICE EXAMS (12 Months Access)
The CIW Certification Practice Exams help measure proficiency on specific topics or the full range of CIW skills objectives. With over 250 exam questions, this powerful tool can be used to pre-assess certification aptitude, to prepare for the high-stakes exam environment, and to identify skills gaps and additional study needs.
The practice exam features include: A broad selection of practice tests, from comprehensive exams to brief quizzes; Practice exams covering each CIW lesson; Performance records, e-mail reports and personalised study plans; Options for instant feedback on each question; Simulation of the high-stakes testing environment; and References to the official CIW books and exam objectives.
- CIW COURSE REVIEWS & EXERCISES (12 Months Access) (Not available for CIW Perl Specialist)
The CIW Course Review modules are designed to assess knowledge of the concepts, skills and best practices taught in the Official CIW books. Each online module contains multiple-choice reviews and quizzes that cover book content lesson by lesson. Once you have mastered the CIW Course Review modules, you are better prepared to take the CIW Examinations.
CIW Exercises are online instructional supplements designed to offer a blended-learning approach. Mapped directly to the Official CIW books, these interactive online exercises help you review important concepts and measure your proficiency on content relevant to CIW certification exams.
Pre-Requirements:
We recommend a good knowledge of IT, computers and Internet/Email use. The course does not have any pre-requisites although we do recommend completing the CIW Foundations Associate Course or CIW Site Development Foundations Course to learn the basics of Web site authoring and development.
Please Note: This course is not compatible with Apple Macs.
Course Duration & Support:
Students may register at any time. The home study courses are designed as self-study courses but if you have any problems you can email our support team.
As the home study courses are self study you can complete in as little or as long a time as you prefer, and we do not impose a cut-off date for study.
CIW Examinations:
On Completion of this curriculum, you can apply for the internationally recognised CIW JavaScript Specialist 1D0-635 and CIW Perl Specialist 1D0-437 and CIW Database Design Specialist 1D0-541 Examinations, which are currently �90.00 + VAT each.
Once all 3 Certificates have been gained then the student will become a CIW Web Development Professional.Exams must be sat at a registered Prometric or Pearson VUE testing centre.
The CIW JavaScript Specialist exam consists of 50 multiple choice/multiple answer questions over 75 minutes and the passing score is 75%.
The CIW Perl Specialist exam consists of 50 multiple choice/multiple answer questions over 75 minutes and the passing score is 75%.
The CIW Database Design Specialist exam consists of 50 multiple choice/multiple answer questions over 90 minutes and the passing score is 75%.
