This three-day Servicing HP BladeSystem training course is designed to develop the skills and knowledge needed to service and support HP BladeSystem products.
This course aims to provide delegates with an understanding of HP BladeSystem products (p-Class and c-Class) and infrastructure, how to setup enclosures, connectivity and storage options and how to use the Onboard Administrator and ILO.
This training course will assist delegates in preparation for the Accredited Platform Specialist (APS) certification exam for BladeSystem servers. This course is designed for the Accredited Platform Specialist who is expected to be able to return the BladeSystem or its components to their operational state as shipped from the factory. The BladeSystem components must pass POST routines and be made available for software load.
The APS certification level is not responsible for the initial software load but is responsible for driver loads/updates and ROM loads/updates. They are also expected to run any HP provided diagnostics for problem identification/isolation including System Insight Manager to view alert conditions and properly identify the affected sub-assembly and perform repair/replacement procedures.

Host aims to give the IT professional a sound working knowledge of the product we train them in and a principal feature of Host courses is the emphasis on the "Hands-on" element. Any technical training must contain some theory but Host concentrate on that detail which is essential in order to understand the operation of the product, or which has practical application in the workplace. Abstract topics are avoided; allowing more time to be spent on practical matters and hands on sessions. The objective is to equip the delegate with the necessary skills and confidence to maintain and repair the equipment.
At Host we are currently the only independent HP Authorised Technical Training Centre in the UK, and are also accredited by IBM to deliver their authorised training programs.
Training and expertise available from Host covers an ever-evolving range of products from HP, IBM, Sun, SNIA, CompTIA and includes Enterprise Servers and Storage Systems, PCs, Printers, Networking Products and Peripherals.
Training can be delivered on customer sites or at a venue of choice, either utilising customer equipment or supplying our own, tailoring delivery to suit individual requirements, both in terms of equipment, content and duration.
Host’s instructors are dedicated full-time training staff, not contractors, only very occasionally are outside trainers employed. This has the benefit of continuity and course cancellations are extremely rare. Classes are kept small, typically to a maximum of six delegates to facilitate a better learning environment.
